What are chemical peels?
A chemical peel is a treatment which is used to improve the texture and tone of the skin. They are commonly divided into two classes; alpha hydroxy-acid (AHA) or beta hydroxy-acid (BHA). AHA include lactic and glycolic acid whilst BHA include salicylic acid. Vitamin A peels are also performed.
Each peel type has varying characteristics and downtime and your practitioner can tailor the type and strength of the chemical peel according to your skins condition, health and downtime.
